About me

After a successful 30 year career as a Policewoman I retired gracefully and set about enhancing my knowledge of dog behaviour and training.

I specialise in rescue dogs, having worked with them for the past 14 years and love to help them fit into their new forever homes. Some require my help more than others and their ability to forgive, forget and flourish is something I find amazing and so rewarding.

I have owned dogs for the past 44 years, three of which have been rescue dogs and I currently share my home with Barney, a rescue Spaniel mix, who is 3 years old and a typical Spaniel!

Practical experience:

In 2010 I started my journey into dog training and behaviour gaining valuable knowledge and experience by volunteering at both the local animal rescue centre (ARC) and at  RSPCA Danaher in Wethersfield as a dog trainer and later as a behaviourist whilst studying for my theory qualifications. The years of practical experience handling & training all different breeds of dogs with different issues was invaluable.
In 2017 I started ‘Doggonebehaviour’ and ever since I have ‘trained’  hundreds of owners to teach their dogs valuable life skills and also successfully helped to modify dogs challenging behavioural issues using positive reinforcement, reward based methods.
